In an attempt to drum up enthusiasm for its tourism department, the estate of Michigan decided to look for a voice they felt would speak to potential visitors of the state and decided to have Michigan native Tim Allen do the voiceovers for a series of commercials that were under a banner of the marketing slogan "Pure Michigan" where people are shown having fun in the state doing any number of things from vacationing to playing golf. Tim Allen has always been a big fan of telling people about his home state and his "Home Improvement" television show was based in Michigan.

The popular children's cartoon "Happy Feet" has gotten a sequel and its arrival on movie screens has gotten fans excited to see what the Oscar winning film crew can do for the continuation of the penguin story. Fans have been posting on Ch131 and other movie websites about how amazing the graphics look for this second film even though it's only been a few years since the first film came out. In the common method of cartoon stories the main characters must band together and work as a team to make sure their way of life can continue.
